This is what the finished install is gonna look like, just this very small dial that lets you control the power level anywhere from 10 all the way down to 0. How a brake controller works is when you have a trailer with electric brakes, this control is gonna send a signal from up here back to your trailer to letting you know to stop. So today we have a proportional one. So how that works is if you press down either light or hard it's gonna match that on your trailer as well. The energize III brake controller is gonna be great for hauling those trailers with one to three axles. more

Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Synchronizer Trailer Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So what a brake controller does is when you press down on your brakes in your vehicle, this is gonna send a signal all the way back to your trailer that has electric brakes on it, then press its brakes. Now, today, we have a time delayed one, so that's not gonna be like our proportional brake controllers. How it differs is a proportional brake controller, when you press down on the brakes, if you press down hard, it's gonna press down hard on your trailer's, and if you press down light, it's gonna press down light on your trailer brakes. While this is gonna work a little bit differently, and it's not gonna provide you as smooth of a ride. more

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Tucson DirecLink Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. Up top here you can see it's going to revert back to our brake sensitivity and there's gonna be 20 different sensitivity levels, depending on if your trailer is above or below 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating, so you can easily adjust that up and down. (button beeping) And then also we can go to the side here and that's gonna give us our low speed brake. So essentially if you're going at a low speed, you don't have to worry about the brakes fully actuating. This is basically just gonna kind of get you a more smoother braking power whenever you're driving through the city or maybe you're hitting a whole lot of stop lights and you don't really wanna have it slam on the brakes every single time, you can adjust this, get a little bit lower, and then we also have our max brake limit. And so right now I got that just said at 20%, but obviously you could change that as well. more

And this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. You will receive a mounting button for a knockout that you can use if you have any knockouts, our vehicle didn't but you can still mount it in the dash. And one of the big differences you're gonna notice here between a traditional brake controller is this is all the footprint that we've got here in our vehicle. Unlike those big boxes that hang down underneath where you're potentially and your legs on it, they're harder to see, harder to activate the manual slide, you get the opportunity to mount this in a much more discreet location. This is a proportional brake controller so the inertia sensor inside will detect vehicle movement. So if you ever slam on the brake show your body like kind of slams forward the inertia sensor detects that, and it knows that it's your vehicle is slowing down based on that. And it uses that along with your adjustment controls to give you the best breaking performance at the back. This is a very simple brake controller beyond the adjustment for a level and the output control. more

Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Instructor Hi there, Colorado owners. Today on your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's P3 proportional trailer brake controller. What's nice about these proportional brake controllers is you get a much more natural braking, 'cuz when you hit the brake pedal it detects that your vehicle is, it can feel that move in, and then the slowing down movement. The inertia sensor detects that and it uses that to determine how intense to apply the brakes to help match your vehicle. You do still have your options for setting your power. We've got a maximum being 14, and then you can go all the way down with it. more

Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller is one of my favorite options on the market. And the reason for this is simple. With most traditional brake controllers, you have to drill into the bottom of your dash and then you have this bulky controller that you're gonna hit your knees on getting in and out of your truck here. With the Echo Under-Dash, everything is gonna be installed behind the dash there. There's no drilling into the dash whatsoever and you're not gonna be sacrificing your leg room. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the CURT Echo mobile brake controller here on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So the CURT Echo is one of my favorite brake controllers on the market. And the reason for this is that it's a wireless brake controller. Therefore, we don't have to worry about modifying the vehicle, splicing into any wires, drilling into the dash. Everything is just gonna install outside the vehicle which is gonna make for a simple plug and play installation. Now with a traditional brake controller, granted most of these trucks here are gonna have the factory brake controller port. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Hi there Chevrolet owners, and your 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install redarc's trailer brake controller. This brake controller has all the features of a premium proportional brake controller but doesn't have the giant mess underneath your dash with your typical brake controllers. You've got a large control module box and everything's inside that box there and you mount it here on the lower parts of your dash. And I'm a pretty tall guy. When I'm getting in, in and out of the vehicle my knees often bump on those. more

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller here on a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. So, this is what our brake controller looks like installed. Now, this may be a little bit different than what you're normally used to for brake controllers, because this particular unit actually installs in between the trailer connector on the vehicle and the trailer connector for the trailer. So, most other brake controllers are gonna have a physical device mounted in your dash, which is definitely gonna take up some leg room, and it also requires drilling. The Curt Echo, however, is gonna be a nice, neat, contained package which installs in line between your trailer connectors. So, I would say, aside for instances where you're towing every day, the Curt Echo is gonna be a great brake controller for you. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Kodiak- Video
Today in our 2009 Chevrolet Kodiak, also known as the TopKick, we're gonna be installing the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller. On most of your traditional styles, they kind of get in the way. You might hit your knee on it when getting in and out of the vehicle, moving around to adjust the pedals, you might hit it. Here, it's elegantly mounted inside your dash. It's got all of your adjustments for your brake sensitivity. The REDARC brake controller is gonna send a signal to your seven-way connector, providing a trailer brake control signal to apply your trailer brakes. more

Hey, guys. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the CURT Spectrum trailer brake controller here on our 2021 Chevrolet Colorado. So here's what our brake controller is gonna look like installed. The only thing that's gonna be mounted on the outside of our dash here is gonna be the actual control knob. The main unit is actually gonna be installed behind our dash there which is gonna give us plenty of leg room. It's also gonna have a very factory-like appearance and feel. more

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the red arc tow pro elite proportional trailer brake controller for one to three axles, now to help us in our installation, We're going to be using the universal mounting panel for our red arc tow pro brake controller, remote head. And that's going to be part number 331-TPSI-001 So here's where our tow pro elite brake controller looks like once we have it installed it's going to be an extremely compact unit. And all we're going to see is the knob with the led light right here. This is going to be a great solution to the traditional style brake controller which typically do take up a decent amount of space and they do get kind of cumbersome where they may interfere with your legs while you're driving. Now, you'll notice that we have a blue led indicator light that's on right by our knob. And that's going to let us know that our trailer is connected but when we don't have a trailer connected there's not going to be a light on at all. more

Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller here on our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 So the first step of our installation. We`re gonna take our brake controller we`re gonna come to the rear of our pick-up here find your trailer connector we`re gonna flip open the lid for the seven way portion we`ll make sure the tab on our brake controller is facing up, and then we can simply insert it into the trailer connector pushing it down to make sure it is secure And if the brake control has power, we should see a flashing blue light that lets us know that we don't have a trailer connected I`ll also like to point out that on the particular model you receive you`re going to get a stability strap your safety strap, whatever you want to call it. It basically is just an extra measure of security it wraps around the brake controller and lid on our seven way to give you a little bit of a tighter fit. So now with our brake controller plugged in we`re just gonna grab the seven way on our trailer open the lid on the brake controller and we`ll just press that in there nice and firmly and if everything was done correctly and it recognizes the trailer, we should see a flashing green light. So once we have our trailer plugged in we`re gonna come back inside the vehicle here and you`ll first need to download the Curt Echo App. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller. We're going to be installing this in conjunction with the Redarc Plug-and-Play wiring adapter harness. So right off the bat, I will say, I am a really big fan of the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, and that's really due to the size of it. And it's very small, and with this model, compared to some of the older versions, they made it even smaller. So it's really going to give us a ton of options on where and how we want to mount this up. more
